The all new Vivosun LumaRay UC (under canopy) grow light is finally here. After two harvests, I am ready to report.
To start, some technical specifications. The Vivosun LumaRay UC (under canopy) grow light boasts 100W of power at 2.75 µmol/J across 2835 white and 660nm deep red LEDs. The LumaRay UC unit itself has an overall length of 40 inches, making it perfect for 4x4s, and even diagonally in a 3x3. It features an onboard dimmer switch, which will come in handy when you go to do tent work (it can be incredibly bright), as well as two mini USB ports for controlling the dimming, and on/off functions of the light. The Vivosun LumaRay UC (under canopy) grow light's mini USB ports also support daisy chaining. It also comes with the option of hanging by ratchet hangers, or positioning from the ground with the optional floor stands. The Vivosun LumaRay UC (under canopy) grow light can be controlled with the E25, E42A, and E42A+. So that's:
Power: 100 watts

My experience with the Vivosun LumaRay UC Under Canopy Grow Light has overall been excellent. I have put it through two harvests, and it's already flowering a third.
At full strength, the Vivosun Lumaray UC Under Canopy Grow Light puts out about 900 µmol/m²/s at a distance of 4.5 inches along the length of the unit. Moving the light meter down and around the lens of the light at the same distanced showed good performance on the part of the lens. It does a good job of pushing light out of the sides, in addition to guarding the actual LEDs.
I included some images of the light on without help from the main top light. So you can see how well the light moves outward from the unit, and through the canopy.
The Vivosun Lumaray UC Under Canopy Grow Light gave a nice sturdy impression right out of the box. It is nicely housed in black aluminum. It as relatively easy to install and manipulate, even with plants in the tent when it arrived.
The accessories allow you to pick if you want to hang it from ratchet pulleys, or use adjustable floor stands. I opted to hang it directly from my scrog net. I had it pretty close to the tops of my pots at times, and it was able to endure pretty drastic overspray without issue.
Between the ratchet ropes, and the USB control cables, it can add a lot of rope and wire bits that can get in your way a bit when accessing the tent. If you can get by on using the floor stands, or hanging it from a CFM kit, or scrog net, that will get the ropes out of your way. You can likewise get the USB out of your way by opting to control the unit with a Vivosun GrowHub E25 Controller.
The 40 inch length of the Vivosun Lumaray UC Under Canopy Grow Light was easily adapted to several configurations in my 4x4 grow tent. Ran parallel to the tent walls, it was sufficiently long that I did not question the small gap it left between the unit, and the tent wall.
I also ran the unit diagonally to the tent walls at times in an effort to pour more light into the plants instead of watching the light cast onto a wall. It is worth noting that this light will fit into a 3x3 if this diagonal configuration is used.
I plan on using the parallel configuration again when I buy a second unit.
The Vivosun Lumaray UC Under Canopy Grow Light was a great addition to my 4x4. I plan on getting more. Whether it was in a spacious canopy, or a crowded one, the light gave a significant increase in size, and density, to the lower larf. There is considerable potential for the lights if more than one is used, and I will do that soon and update this review. For now, I hope this helped you gain some insight into this new offering from Vivosun.
